Overview

A portfolio of education-focused work spanning an in‑house role at St. Rita of Cascia High School (Director of Graphic Design, 2007–2011) and subsequent independent video production for elementary, high school, and university partners. The throughline: making mission, community, and outcomes tangible to families, alumni, and donors.

On a personal note, education work matters deeply to me. It honors the impact teachers, schools, and administrators have on students—and on our shared future. From an early age, my father emphasized education as the path forward—even though he himself did not have the opportunity for higher education. That value—and the teachers who encouraged me to reach higher—were especially instrumental in my education, and that drives my commitment to lifelong learning and to elevating the work of educational institutions.

Challenge

Schools and educational institutions face a unique challenge: they must tell compelling, authentic stories that resonate with multiple audiences—prospective families evaluating enrollment, alumni considering donations, and community members seeking connection—all while operating with small marketing teams, limited budgets, and often outdated technology platforms. Unlike corporations with dedicated brand departments, most schools rely on a handful of staff members (or even just one person) to manage print communications, social media, website updates, event promotion, and video production. Legacy content management systems and fragmented workflows can make it difficult to maintain visual consistency, update messaging quickly, or measure impact. At the same time, the stakes are high: effective storytelling directly influences enrollment numbers, fundraising outcomes, and the school's reputation in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Approach

St. Rita of Cascia (Director of Graphic Design): led brand development across print, video, and web. Redesigned the website and integrated e‑commerce for shop and donations. Produced media for capital campaigns and alumni events to unify message and improve reach.

Independent contracts: Independent contracts: produced story‑driven videos that capture authentic day‑in‑the‑life moments—following students through classrooms, labs, and extracurricular activities—to show the real impact of education in action. These narrative-focused pieces highlight student growth, teacher dedication, and community connection, providing prospective families with a genuine look at school culture while giving alumni and donors a tangible sense of how their support makes a difference. The work spans K‑12 and higher‑ed institutions, supporting both recruitment efforts and advancement campaigns with emotionally resonant, mission-aligned content.

Results

Across all education work, stronger consistency in brand storytelling and print, email, and web communications improved participation and sentiment. Story‑led video assets clarified value to aid enrollment conversations for private education. The combined work deepened community engagement, increased donations, and fostered a sense of pride among parents, staff, and teachers who saw their school's mission more clearly represented across all communications.
